PlayTime
By combining digital projection with nostalgic objects, the PlayTime installation invites viewers to reflect on how childhood memories shape our identities. Reimmersing the audience back into the time when they were children.
Process

Concept Development
Initial ideation and concept exploration for the interactive installation.

Technical Implementation
Arduino and Unity integration for joystick interaction.

Installation
Complete setup and user testing of the interactive experience. Our audience was Design and Technology students, so we focused on bringing that nostalgia in a way where they could reflect their own childhood interactions with technologu and how it has inspired them.
Interactive Demo
Watch the joystick-controlled projection in action, demonstrating forward movement through the unity environment.
The Childhood Experience
Arduino Control
Physical joystick powered by arduino brings tactile joy to digital exploration, created custom C# controller scripts for interaction between real and virtual worlds.

Building Together
Users can interact with the space built by our team. Aiming to foster vulnerability of shared childhood nostalgia in the interactive installation.
Childhood Wonder
Rekindling the magic of childhood play and the role technology played within our lives. By integrating physical and digital experiences we can bring back that sense of wonder and curiousity.
TouchDesigner
A projection of my childhood camcorder video is displayed and altered through the top block with a Etch N' Sketch effect powered by TouchDesigner. Its a metaphor to our fleeting childhood and how our memories are constantly being redrawn.
Etch N' Sketch
Built a enlarged Etch N' Sketch as our surface for projection mapping. Etch' N Sketches are not only fun nostalgic toys we experienced as children but they can also stand as a canvas of how fragile our minds are and as we mature our identity is rebuilt into who we are now.
Digital Connection
We decided to portray the message of childhood nostalgia and identity through this tech driven installation because the intersection of our teams core childhood memories were rooted in our love for digital media. We realized that although we change as we reach adulthood there are still core parts of our identity that are not changing, but ever evolving.
